Based in Cardiff, 4Real Creative provide a range of 3D design solutions for project planning, allowing their clients to see their design dreams realised. 4Real work across a number of different sectors including interior design, architecture and furniture manufacturing, priding themselves on the level of realism achieved by their work.
As a company which holds such a degree of talent and experience in design, it was felt that their website needed to reflect this. 4Real did have a website in use but it was seen as outdated and carrying a brand that no longer represented their company identity. We at Core were tasked with the design and build of a new site, while also looking at the company’s branding to ensure both entities were properly aligned.
In first evaluating the 4Real brand, there were certain changes to be made to centre the company with modern thinking. We wanted to ensure logos had a stronger element of clarity to them, while also keeping them optimal across a range of device sizes in keeping with modern user habits. This emphasised 4Real’s design flexibility and their status at the cutting edge.
The site itself needed to retain a ‘cool’ vibe to it, built with an easy-to-use navigation system. Page numbers were kept as concise as possible, ensuring key messaging was in place and prominent. An example of such information would be the ‘Process’ of the company, with it being felt that an image-rich timeline would help provide users a useful snapshot of the company.
Further navigation was present through the use of a collapsable burger menu on the right hand side of the page which pointed users to different sections of the site. This was done either through a page jump to certain headings on the homepage or as a link through to separate pages like the ‘About’ section or ‘Work’ image gallery.
The majority of imagery chosen for use on the site was from 4Real’s own creative projects, emphasising the high quality nature of their work and allowing users an indication of some of their clients. The ‘About’ page though did feature studio photography, with the intention here being to provide more of a company story than was evident previously. Users were now able to get a sense of the personality of the company through the use of friendly headshots and atmosphere photography.
